Technical officials are volunteers who are members of the area’s swimming clubs. Most officials are parents who have /or have had children in our sport who assist with local club nights and officiating at local meets.

Our officials have a development pathway from timekeeping at local club nights to officiating at the Olympic Games and FINA championships. Coast and Valley Swimming Association can organise training for swim clubs and their members throughout the year or members can complete online training and ask the ATSC for an appointment to apply the skills at a meet and gain experience leading to a competency-based practical assessment.  The following courses are available –

• Inspector of Turns
• Judge of Strokes

• Referee
